Fabaceae. South America (agricultural selection). H 0.5m x 0.2m L. Z10. Annual. Bean is traditionally cultivated as a fresh vegetable, dry, or germinated. A flour is made of beans to enrich a recipe with proteins or to thicken a soup. The plant is antifungal and a biomass source (nitrogen-fixing). It also has medicinal properties: Anticancer, Diuretics, Hypoglycemic, Hypotensive, and Narcotics.

The Yin Yang Bean (Starazagorsky) is a dwarf dry shelling bean, fast grower and rapidly yielding, very productive (a plant can provide a second harvest if not pulled out). Its black and white seed, very original and often sought for decoration, looks like the Tao symbol. Very tasty and creamy, the yin yang bean tastes somewhat like chestnuts. A delightful curiosity to grow in your vegetables garden. Sow in late May in warm soil spacing rows 40 cm. Harvest the pods when they turn yellow and start to wilt before complete drying to facilitate husking and avoid the clutches of weevils. Then finish drying for preservation or freeze half dried for a future use. 1 packet of 15 seeds.
