Details

Aromatic plant from Mediterranean climates, with a very powerful, pleasant resinous scent, reminiscent of cedar and camphor.

It is a non-hardy plant that must be protected from frost in winter. It will grow back each year and form large tufts with tender green vegetation.

At the top of the stems populated with trifoliate and tender green leaves appear all summer and until autumn, dense spikes from which emerge candy-pink flowers reminiscent of Sage flowers, contrasting nicely with the green of the foliage.

Medicinal plant that is also used in perfumery and as a flavoring.

You can burn the dried leaf like natural incense.

Cultivation

Grow Cedronella in full sun and shelter from frost. Robust and easy plant, rarely offered in nursery catalogs.

Sow in April-May, and start like basil: needs heat to germinate.

Transplant outside in June or plant in a large pot.
