Fabaceae. East coast of North America from Florida to Canada, Coast of the Arctic Ocean. H 1.2m x 1.2m L. Z4. Perennial with fresh green foliage appearing in spring. Abundant flowering in early summer. The flowers are meliferous and attractive to bees, purple, blooming on spectacular spikes of 80 cm for about one month. Hardy and much less delicate than the garden lupines (Lupinus polyphyllus), Lupinus perennis will love difficult soils in a sunny slope where it will offer each year a wonderful show. The perennial Lupine is a nitrogen fixing plant very fast growing even in poor soils. Sow in March-April in place and protect from sluggs in spring. Full sun exposure. 1 packet of 0.1g.
