REPRODUCIBLE FARM SEEDS

Seeds of Ornamental, Dye, Vegetable, Medicinal, Aromatic & Melliferous Plants
Non-hybrid & non-GMO seeds, botanical seeds

The vitality of La Paradisière's seeds is ensured by a coherent set of preserving practices :

  • selecting the most beautiful & most vigorous plants
  • manual harvest at the best maturity of the fruit
  • manual cleaning, sorting and drying of small batches
  • double checking seeds quality & pest free
  • storage away from parasites, air, heat, light, and moisture
  • manual counting & packaging - with validation of the sample's sanitary quality
  • germination tests
  • annual stock replenishment

Because we sell the same stock we use on our Farm, we know that germination rates are very high and significatively better than usually got with seeds from the market

Seeds Germination Tests are run in spring at La Paradisière. Germination rates often skyrocket to 100%

Remarks

1. Quantity of Seeds per Lot

La Paradisière sells lots containing a Number of Seeds necessary and sufficient for the success of a cultivation project on a family scale
This Takes into account and compensates, the normal and irreducible rate of weak seeds, varying with species
(genetics causing insufficient vitality)

Producing Seeds requires a lot of work
(cultivation, harvesting, cleaning, drying, sorting, stock management, germination tests, counting, bagging)

Seeds have so a lot of Value: Please don't Waste them ;-)
(broad sowing in the garden without any soil preparation, sowing at the wrong time, no protection against pests, no care of the seedlings, storage for years, etc.)

2. Order as needed

The Seed is a Sleeping Living Organism
It is made up of an Embryo, a Food Reserve, and a Protective Shell

It will age no matter what: Its fatty substances become rancid, and fewer seeds will germinate
Finally, the Seed dies if it didn't find the conditions favorable to germination
(lifespan varying from 1 to 100 years depending on the species)

Sow the year of your order, or the following year if you have any stock left

3. Sow in a Protected Environment

Sowing outdoors exposes the seed and seedling to dangerous and adverse conditions which can destroy it
(birds, rodents, insect larvae, insects, slugs and snails, weather conditions like frost, drought, etc.)
