Details
Cosmos sulphureus is a little less known to gardeners than its cousin Cosmos bipinnatus, the Garden Cosmos
The Sulphur Cosmos is an ornamental bedding plant, appreciated for its bright orange to bright red, airy and light flowering, abundant, magnificent, and uninterrupted from early summer to the first frosts
The flowers of the Mexican Cosmos are used in natural dyeing for yellow to orange colors on wools and silks, very wash fast and a little less light fast

Yellow Cosmos is very easy to grow
It does not require any special care, is resistant to drought, loves sun and heat, but should be planted sheltered from strong winds
Sow in spring, directly in place, after the last frosts, by groups of 3-5 seeds burried 2cm, in a very sunny location, in a clean, well loosen, and not too fertile soil to avoid the unbalance of excessive vegetation development to blooming
Remember to protect the seedlings against slugs and snails though
Very generous flowering
