Details
Mexican Marigold is grown as an ornamental garden plant, highly regarded for its remarkable bloming with large flowers in more or less tight pompoms, in shades of lemon yellow, bright yellow, and orange
The flowers are carried prominently above a nice green foliage without interruption from July to the first frosts
They are melliferous and very attractive to foraging insects
Leaves and flowers are aromatic
The species proposed here is a tall plant that will furnish the interior or the back of flower beds
Please do not confuse it with the dwarf Mexican Marygold
If you are after this format, may we recommend you our beautiful variety of French Marygold
We also recommend that you mix Tagetes erecta with tall Zinnias : The first blooming all Yellows and Oranges, the second all Pinks and Reds, will enrich the range in an explosion of contrasts and colors (both plants have the same cultural requirements)
Tagetes erecta has medicinal properties : Analgesic, Anthelmintic, Bactericide, Dewormer, Laxative, Nematocide, and Sedative
Mexican Marygold flowers can be used as a source of dye as we do with French Marygold
