Details

Briza maxima is a very ornamental, very aesthetic, and very original grass. It grows a tuft of tender green leaves above which inflorescences appear in late spring, bearing many drooping spikelets, gathered in light panicles which come to life in the slightest breeze.

Inflorescence stems are harvested to make dry bouquets.

Great Quaking Grass is very easy to grow, without maintenance. It needs medium-quality soil and full sun exposure.

Sow in place in spring (cold climates) or early fall (Mediterranean climates).
