Briza maxima is an ornamental grass, very aesthetic and very original

It forms a high tuft of wide, tender green, aesthetic ribbon leaves, above which appear - at the end of spring - inflorescences carrying numerous drooping spikelets, gathered in light panicles, and which come alive with the slightest breeze

These inflorescences are harvested before complete maturation for decorative dried bouquets

Culture

Great Quaking Grass is easy to grow and maintenance-free

It needs medium quality soil and full sun exposure

Sow in place in spring (cold climates) or in early autumn (Mediterranean climates and temperate climates where temperature is not colder than -10°C)

Pick the stems that are still green, during flowering, before fully mature (yellow) and dry them for making decorative bouquets
